Living as an Ordinary Radical
Christ followers are meant to be radical non-conformists, interrupting the patterns of our world with prophetic imagination. With stories from the streets of Philly and the war zones of Iraq, Shane will invite us to reflect on how the scandal of God's inclusive love leads to another way of doing life. After all, the Kingdom of God is not just something we hope for after we die, but something that we are to live out on earth as it is in heaven.
About Shane
Sought-after speaker, author and Christian activist Shane Claiborne is a founding partner of The Simple Way, a faith community in inner city Philadelphia. His community seeks to follow Jesus, to rediscover the spirit of the early Church, and to live in stark contrast to the world of militarism and materialism. At The Simple Way, days are spent feeding hungry folks, doing collaborative arts with children, running a community store, hanging out with neighbors, and reclaiming trash-strewn lots by planting gardens. Shane and The Simple Way do much work to expose the fundamental structures that create poverty and to imagine alternatives to them.
