Portland Rescue Mission
MOSAIC PARTNERS WITH THE PORTLAND Rescue Mission to provide hope, transformation and total life recovery for homeless people in our community. Portland Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered organization that offers much more than a meal and a helping hand. Their goal is to break the generational cycle of homelessness for every person to whom they minister. Burnside Shelter
The Burnside Shelter is located in downtown Portland and provides emergency services for homeless guests such as meals, places to sleep and mailing addresses. They also have a recovery program for men. This program is a comprehensive long-term (18-36 month) program that addresses the root cause of homelessness and provides the skills needed to maintain an independent lifestyle.
Shepherd’s Door
Shepherd’s Door, located in NE Portland, is a long-term recovery program for homeless women and their children. The focus of
Shepherd’s Door is to break the generational cycle of homelessness and to provide a way for generational healing. All of the women in the program and many of the children have experienced childhood abuse, and this program helps them to break the cycle of trauma.
The relationship between Mosaic volunteers and Portland Rescue Mission clients and staff makes a life changing impact on everyone. By partnering with the Portland resuce Mission, Mosaic can be a vital part of transforming lives and offering hope to those who are hopeless and often overlooked.
