Native American Connection

m_nativeconnectionMOSAIC PARTNERS WITH MEMBERS OF the Native American community to offer long-term friendship and support as an expression of Jesus’ love. The Native American community has experienced a history of neglect, oppression and trauma stemming back hundreds of years and continuing today.

Portland Connection

The Portland Metro area represents the ninth largest Native American community in the US (over 31,000 people). Roughly half of these people live 200 percent below the poverty line, earning an average of $7.22 an hour to support a family of four. Mosaic desires to build relationships with and serve Portland’s Native American community with no strings attached.

Warm Springs Connection

m_warmsprings-p&vAs one of Oregon’s poorest communities, Warm Springs Indian Reservation is marked by rampant alcoholism, unemployment and domestic violence. According to The Oregonian, “The Warm Springs Reservation is the deadliest place in Oregon for a child to grow up...if you’re a child in Warm Springs you are likely to be poor...you are lucky to have one parent raising you...it's likely that you have buried a parent or other adult who has helped raise you…”

Paul & Vio Vaeth (pictured) pastor Simnasho Community Fellowship, a small church on the reservation with a big vision of Christ transforming their community. Following Jesus' lead in this effort is a lonely journey demanding significant faith and support. Mosaic has the opportunity to serve alongside them in order to see this vision come to fruition.

Spirit Lake Connection

m_thielesLarry & Darla Thiele (pictured) pastor Dacotah Oyate Church on the Spirt Lake Indian Reservation in North Dakota. The Spirit Lake people have had many years of exposure to the gospel of Jesus, yet Christ-followers are few and far between. Even so, Larry & Darla are determined to live for Jesus and communicate his love and truth to their people. Mosaic has the privilege of working with them by sending interns to focus on cultivating relationships and making disciples of Jesus on the reservation.
