Harvey Scott School
MOSAIC WORKS ALONGSIDE HARVEY SCOTT School, a socio-economically diverse K-8th grade school located in Portland’s NE Cully neighborhood. We seek to offer the hope of Jesus through community development in the school and surrounding neighborhood.
More than 80 percent of Harvey Scott children live at or below the poverty line, and 42 percent speak English as a second language. Mosaic works to support existing programs within the school and to organize projects that build community and meet needs of families living in poverty.
In partnering with Harvey Scott, we envision:
· basic needs of economically disadvantaged families met.
· increased literacy rates for Harvey Scott children.
· parents and staff with a deep sense of pride and ownership in their school.
· families that are better equipped to provide for themselves.
