Harvey Scott School

MOSAIC WORKS ALONGSIDE HARVEY SCOTT School, a socio-economically diverse K-7th grade school located in Portland’s NE Cully neighborhood, to offer the hope of Jesus through community development in the school and surrounding neighborhood. More than three-quarters of the children live at or below the poverty line, and one in three speak English as a second language. The large majority of the children come from the immediate area. Mosaic works to support existing programs within the school and also to organize projects that build community and meet needs of families living in poverty.

In partnering with Harvey Scott, we envision:
· Basic needs of economically disadvantaged families being met.m_hs-girl
· Increased literacy rates for Harvey Scott children.
· Parents and staff with a deep sense of pride and ownership in their school.
· Families that are better equipped to provide for themselves.
