Relational Giving: To Those in Need
Mosaic has received many notes from those served by Advent Conspiracy projects. Here are a few highlights:
My Father's House Family Shelter
"Thank you so much for the tree, decorations and gift basket. You truly
made our Christmas this year! We love the tree and everything else and
will never forget your generosity.”
– Resident
Warm Springs Indian Reservation
“I've never met such generous people! Today (Paul) went and
visited 4 homes with the food baskets, with an invitation to come to
church. Pray with us, I'm excited to see what the Lord is going to do.”
- Sister Vio Vaeth, Leader at Simnasho Community Fellowship
Shepherd’s Door Women’s & Children’s Shelter
"Dear Ones, may I echo your two coordinator's words and add my own thanks from all of us here at the Portland Rescue
Mission. Your hearts to give and serve were such a blessing and encouragement to myself and all of the staff and residents here at Shepherd's Door. We remarked all the next day about the hundreds of hours that went into the planning, shopping, cooking and execution of the plan that transformed our home into a magical Christmas wonderland.
One new resident who is separated from her 4 year old daughter told me that she was dreading Christmas, but after working alongside of your group on the tree in the Dining Room she had received joy and the true Christmas Spirit and was really excited about the days ahead for herself and her recovery. I pray the future also includes having her daughter back in her care, but for today her joy and hope is in Jesus and His great gift of dying for her sins.
You all reflected Jesus to us with the value, beauty and dignity of the fresh garland, the yummy cookies and all the fun. I hope some of you will feel led to find your way back to Shepherd's Door to continue to be His hand extended to those who can never pay you back, but appreciate it so much. Peace to you and yours.”
- Holly Hummel, Facilities Coordinator
Harvey Scott Elementary School
"Happy New Year to our Friends at Mosaic Church. We at Harvey Scott
School would like to thank your congregation for the outpouring of
generosity and love you bestowed on our families during the holiday
season.
Many of you signed up for specific families, giving a great
bounty of gifts, gift cards, wrapping supplies and more. The looks on
the faces of our families were priceless when they realized the
thoughtfulness and unselfishness you all exhibited. Others of you gave
valuable gift cards that allowed some of our families to shop for
themselves and to go out to a real restaurant for a meal. You probably
don’t realize how meaningful all these things were to needy families.
Thank you again for your support and interest in our school community.
Your involvement continues to be heartwarming and we appreciate each
generous kindness you do for the Harvey Scott community. Warmest
regards to each of you."
- Deanne Froehlich, Principal
"I can’t thank you enough for your frequent generosities. We at Scott appreciate you so much.”
- Debbie Spasson, 1st grade teacher
"Wow! Do I ever continue to be impressed! Not only do you cook delicious food, but you also have a knack for presenting wonderfully thoughtful gifts... I think there may be just a few Martha Stewarts in your congregation. Thank you for making Harvey Scott a part of your lives."
- Bonnie Jones
"Dear Members of the Mosaic Church, Thank you for... the massive gift giving that many of you participated in – I get the privilege of selecting... the recipients, and have had the opportunity to be present at the deliveries, too. You should simply know that you bring joy to many and make their holiday celebrations very “Christmasey” – The gift cards enable them to shop on their own or to go to a restaurant as a family (often an unusual thing for them!) So, many thanks for all your generosity on this loving project. We love you all!"
