"While we did give and receive tangible gifts, we intentionally spent time on Christmas day to give relationally. Everyone in our family planned one hour during the day to do something together with the purpose of taking time to enjoy each other and the gift God has given us in family relationships. The photo was a result of one of the hours, called, "Snip, Snap, and Sip." We "snipped," from leftover wrapping paper to create our "Merry Christmas 2007" signs, then we "snapped" a picture up on top of Mt. Tabor, during the brief snow storm, and finally we returned home to "sip" from cups of hot cocoa. The second hour was spent sharing answers to questions about our favorite holiday traditions and incorporating those answers into a craft. Finally, the third hour was spent hunkered over a card table starting what would prove to be a week-long project of putting a 1,000-piece puzzle together as a family, something we rarely slow down long enough to even consider doing. Ultimately, the gift of time together in relationship was a most satisfying gift of the day - thanks for the encouragement to consider an emphasis on relational giving."
