Advent Conspiracy

Christmas is meant to change the world.

Long before Rudolf and Frosty, God sent his only Son into our broken world with an outrageous plan to rescue us. This year, Mosaic joined hundreds of churches to resist the modern consumerist Christmas and restore traditions that truly reflect the character of Jesus.

Relational Giving: To Each Other

"Everyone in our family planned one hour during the day to do something together with the purpose of taking time to enjoy each other and the gift God has given us in family relationships This photo is a result of one of the hours, called 'Snip, Snap and Sip'..." read more

Share your story. If you participated in Advent Conspiracy this year, we want to hear your story. How did you celebrate Christmas differently? What was the best relational gift you gave or received? If you participated in an Advent Conspiracy project, how did you see God move in you or in those you served? . Some stories may be published online with your permission.

Relational Giving: To Those in Need

m_hs-ac-boy

Through the relational gift of your time, hurting people in our city were loved and cared for this Christmas season. These projects are happening where Mosaic has existing relationships (through Serve Portland partnerships) and is committed to serving long term. Mosaic has received many notes from those served by Advent Conspiracy projects.

"We at Harvey Scott School would like to thank your congregation for the outpouring of generosity and love you bestowed on our families during the holiday season. Many of you signed up for specific families, giving a great bounty of gifts, gift cards, wrapping supplies and more. The looks on the faces of our families were priceless when they realized the thoughtfulness and unselfishness you all exhibited..."

- Deanne Froehlich, Principal, Harvey Scott School

Redistribution of Resources

As we chose to live out our own traditions differently, we gave less materially and gave more of ourselves. We then pooled our surplus resources and redistributed to people in need. Through the Advent Conspiracy offering, Mosaic is redistributing $36,267.79. We sent 25% (over $9,000) of this to Living Water International to build wells for people around the world who lack clean water. Check out the complete breakdown of Mosaic's redistribution of resources
