Church Planting in KosovoMOSAIC IS COMMITTED TO PARTICIPATING in God’s redemptive work around the world. Mosaic's primary global partnership is supporting church planting and community development efforts in the Balkans - specifically in Gjilan, Kosovo, through the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). Post-war Gjilan struggles with a poor infrastructure and economy with an unemployment rate of 45-50 percent. With less than 0.1 percent of the population who are Christians in a city of approximately 130,000, there is a great need for the message of Jesus.
Ron & Lisa Ramsey
Ron and Lisa Ramsey represent Mosaic as long-term international staff in Gjilan. They recently completed a two-year Albanian language training program, and are now working full-time out of the Ringjallja Center (Albanian for "Resurrection"). This center serves as a launching pad for church planting and Christ-centered, wholistic community development in Eastern Kosovo. It is currently home to a church plant, an English language program, a coffee shop and a business development program. Ron's worst moment in Kosovo thus far was when he was told by a second grade girl that he didn't know how to talk. Lisa's worst moment was seeing Ron cry in front of a second grade girl.

2011 Short-Term Artist Team
Mosaic's first short-term team to Kosovo joined the Ramseys from September 30 - October 10 to engage with a community of young Kosovar artists. The hope is that this trip will lay the foundation for Mosaic to regularly support our Kosovo partnership with short-term teams. Find out more about the 2011 team here.
Candace Hoffman
Candace joined the Kosovo team in August 2009 as a teacher for two staff children. This frees up their parents to spend more time reaching out to the Kosovar people. In addition, Candace teaches English as a Second Language at the Ringjallja Center. Fun fact about Candace: The strangest foods she's eaten are eyeball tacos in Mexico and snake in Indonesia.
